Week 10 - Bat Detector Detecting Plant Sounds !?

Josh and I have gotten a little creative to attempt to capture any plant sound emissions. Its been relatively tricky trying to captivate the right environment and microphone. We have used Sonar Bat Detectors to pick up noises from the plants. It is set to detect any noise at 50kHz. So far it seems like we actually did retrieve supporting data. We are using a grow box for our environment which so far has been the quietest testing site. And when the tomato plant was placed in the box and cut there were sounds detected. There were however also noise emissions when the grow box was totally empty. This means we are getting closer but still need to fine tune the environment. This is much more encouraging than the previous weeks, but not supporting the hypothesis yet.
